I nominate Valley because I'm very proud of the DSPCA and so happy that they rescued her. Valley was found two years ago in a very bad condition, she was in a field with a rope tied tightly from her headcollar to her hind leg and she could not move. She was skin and bone, left to starve to death and her leg was badly infected where the rope cut into her flesh. The other horse found in the same field was not as lucky as Valley and had to be put to sleep because his injuries were so bad.
When we visited DSPCA and saw Valley we just fell in love with her. We brought her home on Valentine's Day and she is now a very happy and lively mare who loves people and enjoys being groomed and pampered.
I am so happy that the DSPCA do great work and help lots and lots of animals.
This is Valley shortly after she was rescued in 2009 and the top image was taken during Summer 2010 |
